Book the Museum

ARKEN is uniquely situated in beautiful natural surroundings overlooking Køge Bay. The meeting between art and nature makes the museum an ideal location for hosting events.

The museum is easily accessible by car, bike and train. There are plenty of free parking spaces and an amazing kitchen where we cook from scratch and can handle special requests.

ARKEN is suitable for large conferences, gala dinners, product launches, award ceremonies, photo shoots, fashion shows, company workshops, corporate events, receptions and small meetings. The museum can provide a beautiful setting for weddings.

The museum's beautiful architecture, exhibitions, sculpture park and beach provide the perfect setting for any event. We have a total of eight spaces you can book: the Concert & Conference Hall, the Film Hall, ARKEN's Foyer, DETLEF'S HALL, the Art Axis, the Asger Jorn Gallery, Business Club Arken's space and ARKEN Café.

You might also consider enriching your conference, meeting or event with an inspiring exploration of the museum's exhibitions, a creative workshop, a private tour, or a lecture. Together, we can design the entertainment that best suits your event.

ARKEN's events department


The museum's guests come first. That's why our experienced events department is ready to work closely with you in partnership with ARKEN's kitchen and technicians to tailor the event to suit your needs. We coordinate everything from setup, audio and AV equipment to catering, and we assist with creative input.

The Concert & Conference Hall

The stage is set in ARKEN's largest and most flexible hall. The hall can be easily and quickly adapted to your needs, making it ideal for 'transformation conferences', where a conference hall with professional presentations needs to be quickly transformed to accommodate group work or a gala dinner with white tablecloths and special lighting.

AV equipment is permanently installed and the museum's own technicians are on hand to help create the right atmosphere for your event. All Conference Hall bookings include free admission to the exhibitions during the museum's opening hours. The Concert & Conference Hall can accommodate 260-320 people in theatre line-up and 222 people for a seated dinner.

The Film Hall

A comfortable cinema setup with top-notch acoustics and AV equipment.

The Film Hall has 145 stationary and very comfortable seats. If you are looking for close contact and dialogue with the audience, the Film Hall provides the perfect setting.

In this intimate setting, you don't even need a microphone for most speeches. The crescent shaped design of the hall gives the space amazing acoustics.

ARKEN's Foyer

ARKEN's Foyer has high ceilings, a view of the sky and direct access to both the Concert & Conference Hall and the Film Hall. The Foyer displays artwork from ARKEN's permanent collection and is a space where you can really experience ARKEN's beautiful architecture. The Foyer can be closed off during normal opening hours if necessary.

The Foyer is suitable for conferences, standing receptions and seated dinners. For seated dinners, there is room for 200 people at rectangular tables or 140 people at round tables. For receptions, there is room for 500 people.

DETLEF'S HALL

In DETLEF'S HALL you can experience a unique and beautiful space at the heart of the museum. The hall can be used for conferences, dinners, standing receptions and workshops. The hall features a beautiful wooden flooring and artwork from ARKEN's permanent collection.

All DETLEF'S HALL bookings automatically include free admission to the exhibitions during the museum's opening hours.

Available for booking: Any day of the week, both during and outside museum opening hours.

Asger Jorn Gallery

The Asger Jorn Gallery is located in the heart of the museum and is suitable for receptions as well as smaller meetings and events. There is room for up to 100 guests.

In the Asger Jorn Gallery you get to host your meeting and give your presentations surrounded by Asger Jorn's stunning and colourful murals.

This venue is ideal for board meetings, smaller networking events, workshops and courses and is directly adjacent to the galleries that host special exhibitions.

All Asger Jorn Gallery bookings include free admission to the exhibitions during the museum's opening hours.

Available for rental: Any day of the week during special exhibitions, both during and outside museum opening hours.

The Art Axis

The Art Axis is ARKEN's largest exhibition and event space, and it provides an impressive setting for large dinners and other gatherings.

There is access from the Art Axis to the museum's special exhibitions.

For standing receptions there is room for 1,000 people. The Art Axis is perfect for combining with ARKEN's foyer for receptions and dinners. For seated dinners, the Art Axis can accommodate 400 people depending on the special exhibition running at the given time.

ARKEN's Café

ARKEN's Café's beautiful spaces may be enjoy outside the museum's opening hours.

The café hangs like a lifeboat on the side of the museum. Inside, the solid wooden plank flooring calls to mind the deck of a ship.
The maritime atmosphere is completed by the stunning views of Køge Bay.

This venue is ideal for dinners, receptions and parties with around 100 guests. For a seated dinner, there is room for 80 people.

The café's terrace can also be used for events.

Business Club ARKEN

An exclusive meeting room with elegant décor and stunning views.

In the Business Club block, you can enjoy the beautiful view of Ishøj Beach Park and Køge Bay.

The 32 m2 triangular space offers an exclusive décor featuring Danish design classics.
The room is located next to the café.

There is a conference table that seats 12 and a 75″ LED monitor with ClickShare to showcase your presentations.

Perfect for board meetings and small lunches and dinners.

Central location

ARKEN is centrally located in Ishøj, very close to the motorway, within walking distance of Ishøj Station and only a 20-minute drive from central Copenhagen and Copenhagen Airport. The museum has several hundred free parking spaces.


Catering

ARKEN makes a point of including the culinary art as a part of every event experience at the museum. Based on locally sourced, preferably organic, produce, our chef composes menus for all types of events. ARKEN offers everything from reception menus with simple dishes to seven-course tasting menus.
