The exhibition Anish Kapoor – UNSEEN, opening on 11 April 2024, will be the largest presentation of works by the internationally acclaimed artist Anish Kapoor in Scandinavia. A major figure in contemporary art over the last 40 years, Kapoor is known for exhibiting at the world’sleading institutions – and now his works will grace ARKEN Museum of Contemporary Art near Copenhagen.
The world-famous British-Indian artist is due to exhibit a series of monumental works for the first time ever in Scandinavia. Extending across the majority of the ample galleries at ARKEN Museum of Contemporary Art, the show will include landmark works such as Memory (2008), made out of 24 tonnes of Corten steel and the seminal Descent into Limbo (1992). The exhibition Anish Kapoor – UNSEEN is the most comprehensive ever staged in the museum’s history.
The museum wishes to thank the A.P. Møller and Chastine Mc-Kinney Møller Foundation, the Augustinus Foundation, the Aage and Johanne Louis-Hansen Fond, the Danish Arts Foundation and the Furi Appel and Gunnar Nisker Foundation, which have made this exhibition possible.
